“PAPER FLOOD” (2023)

synopsis: PAPER FLOOD is an object animation film that explores the material of paper and transforms it into water. The video installation questions the use of paper and the environmental impact of paper on our water. The short film illustrates the throwing away of our resources in our consumer society and shows the effects on our fresh water. The idea of the film is not to paint and draw on paper, but to use the paper itself as a material and medium to let it speak.

The world produces 300 million tons of paper every year. But 1 sheet of paper requires up to 20 liters of water for its production. The paper industry uses a huge amount of water – in some nations 10% of all freshwater goes to make paper.
