“KÖRPER-BAU” (2023)

synopsis: KörperBau is a 30-minutes video walk through the baroque garden of Berlin Charlottenburg. The videos are site-specific - They refer to the body and the urban environment - overwrite landscapes, paint over sculptures and building facades and sketch the history. The videos enter into dialogue with the park of Berlin Charlottenburg Palace and provide new visual impulses. For example, the feet of the baroque Flora statue are transformed and evoke a modern image of women. The dome of the palace turns into a blossoming flower. The face on the royal vase awakens. And the fencer sculptures at the entrance gate fight with each other. Sculptures and facades are opened up and repositioned via the portable screen - Digital Art meets traditional sculpture. The aim of the intervention is to experiment with the medium of Video Art, to get it out of the interior and the classic cinema context and to bring it outside onto the street. It is a new playful and participatory approach to the medium of video art in urban space.
